From Classroom to Center Stage: Meet Jalulu, Aspiring Pop Star and Student
Read time: 7 minutes
Known to his family in Prescott Valley as Javier Luis, “Jalulu” is a student, a supportive uncle, a faithful churchgoer, and an aspiring pop artist with his eyes set on the Super Bowl halftime show. But before he takes the world stage, he decided to conquer a different milestone first: his high school diploma.
The Library Moment
Jalulu’s journey with Grad Solutions began in February 2025. Like many of our students, the decision to return to school wasn’t planned; it was a sudden realization of what he needed to do for his future.
He recalls sitting in the library with a friend, coming to a pivotal realization.
“I was telling my friend, ‘I need to get back into school. It’s really now or never. I can’t just stay on music forever.’ And she replied, ‘I got you. Have you ever heard of Grad Solutions?'”
Admittedly, Jalulu was skeptical at first. He had never heard of the program. But when his friend explained that it was an online school that would “take care of him,” he took a leap of faith.
“I enrolled one day out of the blue,” he admits. “I will be honest, I wasn’t really going to enroll, but I thought, let me try it out… It’s really now or never. So I enrolled, and I have not regretted it since.”
From “Delulu” to Jalulu
Creativity runs deep in Jalulu’s life, right down to his name. Born Javier Luis, he earned the nickname “Lulu” in middle school. Eventually, that evolved into “Delulu” (short for delusional).
Rather than shying away from it, he remixed it. He combined the “J” and “A” from Javier with “Lulu” to create a brand name that no one had ever heard before. It represents his versatility as an artist who tackles pop, R&B, and even pop rock.
Dreams of Stardom and Service
While Jalulu is working hard on his coursework, his vision for the future is massive. “I want to be a big pop star. I want to be the next Rihanna,” he says.
However, his ambition isn’t just about fame. Beneath the artistic persona is a young man who cares deeply about his community. He credits his grounded nature to his family—his parents, Jerry and Heather, his three siblings, and his niece, Amaya.
This support system has inspired him to give back. He hopes to one day use his platform to become a counselor or a mentor, specifically for students who have dropped out or fallen behind.
“On the side, I would love to help kids out. I want to help people who are in my situation. I want to work for something like [Grad Solutions].”
Advice for Future Students
For anyone sitting on the fence about returning to school, Jalulu’s message is simple: Don’t let fear stop you.
“Don’t be scared to join Grad Solutions,” he says. “They’ll take care of you, and they will help you accomplish your dream. Because anything is possible.”
